Vocal coach in Brighton Stephanie Brown

About vocal coach Stephanie Brown

My name is Steph Brown and I am a professional singing teacher and vocal coach based in Hove, Brighton. Qualified with a BA hons degree at Sussex University in 2012 I have over 15 years of experience as a vocalist, pianist and performer. I teach all contemporary styles including pop, rock, folk and jazz. As well as developing your voice I can help you to develop skills in song-writing, harmonising, music theory and performance technique.

I have had many years of experience as a live performer to bring to the table. I have played in renowned venues across the UK and Ireland such as London’s Ronnie Scotts, Dublin’s Whealans and Belfast’s The Empire. I have had the pleasure of recording with some of the UK’s top producers including Mercury Prize nominated Jag Jago and Tim Bidwell, and was nominated as runner up in the 2013 Yamaha competition with Jools Holland.
I teach all ages from 7 upwards, and cater for all levels of singing.  Whether you want to develop particular aspects of your voice, make the jump from amateur to professional or just learn to sing for pleasure, I can guide you through the technique to help you achieve your personal goals.
I can also help with specific projects such as:

  • Preparing for an audition / performance
  • Overcoming nerves
  • Developing song writing skills
  • Mentoring group singing (if in a band or other type of group)
  • Harmonising
